THE WRONG DATE WAS REPORTED.Residents: Vote Sept. 14 for "Not For Profit" status to protect us all (no cost to you at all)

At the annual meeting, a vote was taken to turn the Hoene Springs subdivision into a not-for-profit entity in order to protect all home owners from lawsuits. This was the end result of months of research done by a committee of board members. Here are the basic facts:

1. We need this to pass because our bylaws were written decades ago, and don't protect any of us from lawsuits. As it stands, if someone were to be hurt on HS common ground (the park, our many creeks, etc.) they could sue all individual homeowners. Several real-world examples were given at the meeting, including homeowners in one subdivision each having to pay nearly $30,000 because of a lawsuit on common ground.

2. This will cost each of us absolutely nothing, since the $1500-$2000 it will cost for the subdivision will be taken out of current assessments. There is no further cost to the subdivision after this one time charge.

3. We need a 3/5 majority of all homeowners to vote yes, including spouses who are on the deed. At the Aug. 17 annual meeting, 99% of those in attendance voted yes.

4. An official vote will take place Monday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at the firehouse across from Hideaway Trails. If you already voted at the meeting, you do not need to vote again, but please share this information with your neighbors.

Residents Asked to Lock up
And Keep an Eye Out

There have been some recent break-ins in the neighborhood. Residents are being asked to lock their cars and doors, and keep an eye out for unfamiliar people and activities. If you see something suspicious, be careful and call the police. The sooner we get the culprit caught, the sooner we can all relax!

Recent Activity

The annual meeting of all residents was held in August, 2014 at the Jefferson County Library on Highway 30.

Adopt-A-Highway: Thanks to all of those who helped with the trash pick up in both November and May.

Resident Yard Maintenance: Residents are asked to trim their trees along the roads to allow the fire department a 13.6" net clearance for their trucks. In addition, please spray vegetation killer along the road to keep grass and other growth from getting under the asphalt and starting cracks, which is very expensive to fix.
Power Lines: If vines and other vegetation is growing on power lines or poles, please call Ameren UE, since that would be their responsibility.
